This opportunity is being presented through a hiring partner on behalf of the employer, with the partner coordinating applications and the subsequent steps. The employer is seeking a System Analyst in Germany to help advance a modern cross-border payments platform used by international businesses.

In this role, you will work across product, engineering, and business functions to convert complex operational and business needs into practical, scalable technical solutions. Your work will span payment processing, banking connections, APIs, and cloud-based system design, all within a fast-moving fintech setting. The role is designed for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving platform performance, and helping deliver innovative financial products with measurable business impact.

What you will do

Assess current payment infrastructure, acquiring systems, and banking integrations, then document and refine them over time.
Turn business needs into clear system requirements, technical specifications, workflow definitions, and solution blueprints.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and business teams to ensure the technical direction supports broader business goals.
Assist with onboarding new payment providers, banking partners, and external services.
Set expectations for APIs, data movement, workflow logic, integration behavior, and acceptance standards for new and existing work.
Examine implementation details such as API agreements, data structures, logs, and technical documentation when needed.
Spot opportunities to improve scalability, automation, operational effectiveness, and reliability.
Create and maintain detailed documentation such as functional specs, process flows, user stories, and technical notes.
Check delivered solutions, resolve requirement questions during development, and contribute to smooth product delivery.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a System Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Solution Analyst, or comparable role, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.
Proven ability to document business processes, system integrations, APIs, technical workflows, and solution designs.
Strong understanding of payment processing, card acquiring, banking integrations, or financial infrastructure.
Experience working closely with software engineering teams in agile product environments.
Working knowledge of cloud architectures; familiarity with AWS tools such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora DB, SQS, and EventBridge is an advantage.
Ability to review APIs, technical documentation, system behavior, and data flows, with some understanding of code logic being beneficial.
Comfort using documentation and modeling tools such as Jira, Confluence, BPMN, UML, or sequence diagrams.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and stakeholder management capability.
English proficiency at B2 level or above.
Proactive approach, accountability, and experience using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, research, or problem-solving.
