About the Role
This opportunity is for an experienced Software Project Manager with a solid technical background in software development and a track record of delivering software initiatives from early planning through production release. The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is expected to be performed on-site within the software development and digital solutions space.
The successful candidate is expected to have prior experience as a Software Developer or in a similar technical position before moving into project management. That background should help connect business needs with engineering execution, ensuring smooth collaboration between stakeholders and delivery teams.
You will oversee complete software delivery, guide Agile/Scrum practices, coordinate cross-functional teams, and make sure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities
- Own the full software project lifecycle, starting from requirements collection and planning through development, testing, deployment, and support after release.
- Run Agile delivery by leading Scrum events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Serve as the main coordination contact for clients, business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams.
- Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, UI/UX designers, DevOps, and business analysts to keep execution on track.
- Convert business needs into practical technical outputs while balancing business goals with technical constraints.
- Create and keep up to date BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other project documents.
- Build and maintain project schedules, sprint roadmaps, timelines, resource plans, and delivery milestones.
- Follow project status, spot risks and dependencies early, and put mitigation actions in place proactively.
- Use JIRA, Confluence, and similar Agile tools to monitor delivery metrics, sprint progress, and team performance.
- Handle stakeholder expectations through clear communication, regular updates, and proper project governance.
- Ensure solutions are delivered to the required quality, meet business expectations, and align with agreed timelines.
- Encourage ongoing process improvement by applying Agile practices and supporting stronger delivery standards.
Requirements
- Background in managing software projects end to end, from initiation to live deployment.
- Strong practical experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and facilitating all core Scrum ceremonies.
- Previous hands-on work as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or another technical software role before transitioning into project management.
- Good understanding of software architecture, SDLC, APIs, databases, system integrations, and modern development methods.
- Ability to work closely with engineering teams, understand technical conversations, estimate effort, and identify delivery risks.
- Proven ability to gather requirements and turn them into BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documents.
- Strong communication and client-handling skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience overseeing multiple software projects at the same time and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Comfort using Agile project management platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or another relevant technical field.
- Agile credentials such as CSM, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or PMP are considered a strong advantage.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
- Must be based in Riyadh and open to relocation for future project assignments if needed.
