Role overview
Bechtle Ireland is looking for a Software & Cloud Business Development Manager to help accelerate new business across the UK and Ireland. The role sits within the Software & Cloud team and focuses on opening doors with new customers, growing existing accounts, and shaping commercial opportunities around Microsoft and Adobe offerings. The position combines strategic relationship building, solution selling, and commercial ownership across SaaS, licensing, and wider software and cloud opportunities.
You will work closely with Account Managers, Pre-Sales, Vendor Alliances, Marketing, and internal operations teams to align technology solutions with customer needs and business outcomes. A major part of the role is identifying challenges faced by customers and turning those into practical, commercially sound software and cloud propositions.
Key responsibilities
- Prospect for and win new business, with a primary focus on Microsoft and Adobe products and services, including SaaS and traditional licensing arrangements.
- Assess customer objectives and pain points, then shape solutions that match their technical and commercial requirements.
- Develop trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and take ownership of pre-onboarding activity for Microsoft and Adobe accounts, while also supporting Account Managers on new and existing opportunities.
- Partner with the UK&I Vendor Alliance manager and Marketing to plan and run targeted campaigns and events centred on modern workplace solutions.
- Help build and expand the services portfolio for Microsoft and Adobe through collaboration with internal teams.
- Play a leading role in initiatives that grow Bechtle Ireland’s Software & Cloud business, with support from the wider UKI team.
- Own marketplace-related activity for Bechtle Ireland, working alongside the central Operations team in the UK.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in solution selling is preferred.
- A driven self-starter who is eager to learn and build expertise.
- Comfortable working on your own as well as in a collaborative team setting.
- Motivated by goals, challenge, and achievement.
- Energetic, persistent, organised, confident, conscientious, and positive in approach.
- Strong at building relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative capability.
- Able to recognise customer needs and translate them into a workable solution.
- Team-focused mindset with the ability to contribute effectively in group environments.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving workplace with a lively, people-oriented culture.
- Able to build strong working relationships with delivery partners.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in a similar business development or sales role within IT, software, or cloud is required. You should also have strong consultative selling skills, a solid understanding of licensing models such as CSP, SaaS, and cloud consumption, and the ability to explain complex solutions in clear business language.
What the company offers
- Hybrid working pattern: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
- Competitive pay.
- Office location in Sandyford Business Park, conveniently positioned just off the M50.
- A supportive, social, hardworking, and enjoyable team culture.
- Incentives such as holidays, vouchers, lunches, and spot prizes.
- Access to high-quality technology for both office and home use, including laptops, screens, and phones.
- Subsidised health care and medical benefits after 6 months.
- 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
