Position overview
The Senior Director, Membership Development is a key hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of Membership Development Partner and Member Development Director. The position is focused on helping TIGER 21 Groups grow and stay healthy by supporting newly appointed Chairs as they launch Groups and by working with experienced Chairs to keep their Groups full and active. This role works closely with the Vice President of Member Development to align day-to-day efforts with the organization’s growth priorities.
When supporting new Chairs, the role partners with a New Group Build Coach to guide launch efforts and help establish new Groups in five months or less. A major part of this work is coaching Chairs on how to identify, engage, and convert prospective Members while staying on track with launch goals.
For established Chairs and Groups, the role is more independent and focuses on building and maintaining a strong pipeline of ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The Senior Director uses internal resources and cross-functional collaboration to help fill openings, strengthen member acquisition, and support long-term Group vitality.
This is both a coaching position and a sales partnership role, with responsibility for helping Chairs succeed in attracting and retaining Members across global markets.
Location and travel
This is a hybrid role for an East Coast-based professional in the United States or Canada. The work is mostly remote, with occasional travel for company events, meetings, and training sessions. Travel is expected to be about 10% to 20% of the role.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is USD 110,000 to USD 120,000. The role also includes bonus potential of up to USD 80,000.
Key responsibilities
- Coach newly assigned Chairs, in partnership with a New Group Build Coach, to launch TIGER 21 Groups with at least five founding Members.
- Take part in and help run formation events for new Groups, with a focus on achieving strong conversion results.
- Hold weekly coaching sessions with new Chairs to strengthen their skills in sourcing Members, selling effectively, and building Groups.
- Support event planning, event delivery, and follow-up work for new Group launches.
- Work directly with prospects to improve conversion outcomes during formation events and launch efforts.
- Help existing Chairs keep their Groups full by identifying and sourcing qualified ultra-high-net-worth Member candidates.
- Use Salesforce and related tools to manage pipeline activity, track prospects, and forecast outcomes.
- Reach out to prospective Members, assess interest, and coordinate introductions to Chairs for final review.
- Build sales approaches with Chairs to address the specific needs of each Group.
- Act as a reliable advisor to Chairs by understanding Group dynamics and helping solve sales-related challenges.
- Partner with marketing and other teams to align lead-generation efforts.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Member Development to ensure strategy is aligned with organizational goals.
- Share insights and recommendations that improve the membership development process.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce for prospects, pipelines, and conversion performance.
- Provide regular progress updates and reporting to leadership.
Required competencies
- Strong ability to coach, mentor, and motivate others.
- Clear and effective communication, with strong follow-through.
- Comfort working across global markets and understanding cultural differences.
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned to broader business goals.
- A collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven mindset.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of professional experience, along with a background in sales, relationship management, and pipeline management. Experience working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals is especially valuable.
Technology
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is also expected.
