Role Overview
ABM UK is hiring a full-time permanent Security Supervisor for a high-profile client site in the West Bromwich area at New Square Shopping Centre. The position sits in a busy operations setting and reports to the Site Operations Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Operations Manager and shared services manager to maintain strong security standards and effective team leadership.
This role calls for someone comfortable in a fast-changing environment, able to work independently as well as collaboratively, and capable of juggling priorities while responding to evolving situations.
Working Pattern and Pay
The shift pattern is 6 days on and 3 days off, with a 56-hour workweek. The pay rate is £14.00 per hour.
Key Duties
- Assist the Site Operations Manager with overall contract delivery in line with company policies and procedures, including oversight of on-site budgets for team and non-team members, forecasts, and monthly reconciliations.
- Maintain consistently high security standards while adapting to changing operational requirements and contributing practical improvements.
- Provide professional support on service matters and represent the ABM brand positively.
- Help manage absence and leave records, including sickness and annual leave for site team members.
- Ensure KPI and SLA standards are met and address any shortfalls professionally.
- Support induction, training, development, and retention of team members.
- Run daily and weekly client audit activity with the Site Manager and prepare accurate weekly and monthly reports aligned to contract KPIs.
- Investigate and document security incidents, keeping relevant stakeholders informed and ensuring lessons learned are acted on.
- Maintain strict compliance with GDPR and related regulations.
- Lead regular communication with the site team, including daily TBTs and health and safety updates, to support team performance.
- Ensure objectives, performance reviews, and Toolbox Talks are completed according to company policy.
- Identify training needs and keep site records accurate and up to date.
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Oversee incident and accident reporting processes.
- Complete all required company documentation.
- Carry out return-to-work interviews and absence management procedures when required.
- Ensure all team members perform their duties correctly, on time, and in line with assignment instructions.
- Take responsibility for the safety and welfare of team members when the Site Manager is absent.
- Make sure the team understands and follows the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
- Address team welfare needs promptly and seek guidance in line with ABM policies.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with all parties on site.
- Take on reasonable additional duties as needed to support the business.
Person Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisation, and a customer-focused approach.

- Able to adapt quickly in a busy operational environment.
- Reliable, flexible, and self-driven.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Physically fit, as the role is active.
- Willing to go through the company screening process, including a basic DBS check.
- Substantial previous experience in a supervisory or managerial environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous security experience.
- Door Supervisor SIA licence required.
- CCTV licence is optional, but the successful candidate should be prepared to complete the course in future to become dual licensed.
