Role overview

Bridgeway Benefit Technologies is looking for a QA Engineer to join a fast-moving, outcome-oriented team. In this position, you will help protect product quality, reliability, and performance by using both automated and manual testing methods. The role is closely tied to the software development lifecycle and centers on creating scalable, repeatable, and easy-to-maintain test automation that supports CI/CD delivery.

You will work closely with software engineers, quality analysts, product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, and platform teams to ensure quality is built into the product from the start. The goal is to improve user experience while lowering risk, avoiding rework, and reducing defects after release. This is a remote role, with preference given to candidates on the East Coast.

Responsibilities

Review business, product, infrastructure, and technical inputs to make sure test coverage is complete.
Work with cross-functional partners to clarify requirements, uncover risks, and confirm acceptance criteria can be tested and automated.
Shape test strategies that fit DevOps and CI/CD delivery practices.
Plan testing scope, objectives, resourcing, timelines, and deliverables for both manual and automated efforts.
Build, improve, and support automated test cases and frameworks that are structured, reusable, and maintainable.
Create and manage automated scripts and test suites in Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Run and maintain automated and manual tests across functional, regression, performance, usability, and security areas.
Start and monitor automated runs, review outcomes, and confirm coverage for assigned scrum teams.
Log, rank, and follow defects, working with developers to diagnose issues and verify fixes.
Apply knowledge of story sizing, test planning, and coverage in Agile and Scrum settings.
Keep thorough documentation for test plans, cases, automation frameworks, and regression outcomes.
Share test findings, regression updates, and quality metrics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Help expand automation coverage and improve testing efficiency through the automation roadmap.
Recommend and implement improvements to tools, processes, and frameworks to strengthen QA scalability and reliability.
Stay informed about current automation, quality engineering, and secure development practices.

Requirements

At least 4 years of professional software QA experience, including 2 or more years focused on test automation.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as TestComplete or Playwright.
Strong coding ability in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
Good understanding of testing fundamentals, automation approaches, quality engineering principles, and test design best practices.
Technical knowledge covering SQL, databases, APIs, web applications, and networking basics.
Experience creating and maintaining automated frameworks, tools, and reusable test components.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Experience in large-scale or multi-platform environments is considered an advantage.
Previous work in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
