Role Overview

Bayshore is looking for compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to join its care team in Fort Erie, Ontario. In this role, you will help clients of different ages and backgrounds remain safely and comfortably at home by delivering respectful, person-centered support.

This opportunity is available in full-time, part-time, and casual formats. Full-time and part-time roles include guaranteed bi-weekly hours, along with the stability of regular pay and company-sponsored health coverage for you and your family.

Work Location and Schedule

The primary work location is Fort Erie, Ontario, with scheduling areas that may also include Port Colborne.

The pay range for this role is $23.50 to $24.63 per hour. Key Responsibilities

The PSW supports community clients with personal care and daily living activities based on individualized care plans. The role also includes cognitive, social, and emotional support, along with tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and monitoring household safety.

Care plans may involve skin care, hair care, oral care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, exercise, feeding, assistance with special diets, oxygen administration support, and medication reminders.

PSWs may also carry out specialized client-specific procedures with clinical training and supervision, and are expected to document care provided and observations related to client condition.

Education and Required Attributes

A Personal Support Worker diploma or an equivalent qualification is required, and proof of the credential must be provided. Candidates must have strong communication skills in written and spoken English. French ability is required for roles in Quebec or in positions where French is necessary for service delivery.

Additional Requirements

A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle are mandatory. Candidates selected for an offer must provide two supervisory references, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, and proof of a negative TB test.

Depending on provincial rules and the specific role, new hires may also need to show proof of vaccination against illnesses such as COVID-19, Hepatitis, and seasonal influenza. Medical exemptions and accommodation requests based on Human Rights Code criteria will be reviewed individually.
