Role Overview

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for recurring reporting and daily shipment visibility across inbound, outbound, and parcel transportation. This position converts carrier, vendor, and freight data into the performance metrics used by the team, monitors carrier service levels, manages the carrier claims workflow, and identifies exceptions and savings opportunities across the transportation network. Reporting accuracy is a key responsibility because decisions are made from these numbers.

This is an early-career role for someone building practical supply chain and logistics expertise who wants to grow into broader analysis and process strategy.

How Performance Is Evaluated

Transportation performance is measured primarily through OTIF. Traeger targets more than 95% on-time pickup and on-time delivery. This role helps keep that metric accurate, visible, and moving in the right direction by tracking performance and highlighting carrier or lane exceptions that may affect results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily shipment visibility and appointment compliance through vendor portals and the transportation management system, and escalate exceptions within defined SLA windows, including international shipment delays and delivery issues involving forwarders and brokers.
• Create and maintain recurring KPI reports for prepaid, collect, and parcel shipments, including weekly stand-up metrics and the monthly end-of-month transportation report, while ensuring the numbers remain accurate and reliable.
• Monitor carrier and vendor performance using scorecards, including OTIF targets above 95% for pickup and delivery, on-time trends, and accessorial activity, and identify carriers or lanes that need review.
• Oversee inbound routing decisions to support timely and cost-conscious freight movement within routing guidelines, and assist with routing and cost control for the air-freight program.
• Own the full carrier claims process from start to finish, drive claim recovery, and help implement corrective actions to reduce repeat issues.
• Review freight spend and invoice variances to find and quantify routing or cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze shipment data at scale to uncover trends and issues, then recommend alternatives and escalate concerns together with a proposed solution.
• Ensure international shipment records are complete and compliant, including customs-related paperwork requirements.
• Work across Planning, Operations, IT, and Finance on inbound timing, system data, freight accruals, and claim recovery, and act as a dependable first contact for transportation-related questions.
• Maintain standard operating procedures, contribute to process improvements, cross-train within the logistics function, and help solve problems wherever support is needed.

• Strong comfort with operational data and metrics such as OTIF, cost per shipment, transit time, and carrier scorecards, with the ability to interpret trends and explain what they mean.
• Clear and timely communication, including proactive escalation of issues rather than waiting to be asked.
• High attention to detail in reporting, data handling, and claims paperwork.
• Analytical thinking that turns shipment and performance data into practical recommendations.
• Root-cause problem solving under pressure, with good judgment on when to escalate.

• Ability to learn and use vendor portals, TMS platforms, routing tools, and BI dashboards quickly.

What You Need

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a supply chain environment, or a recent bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, International Business, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Comfort working with BI dashboards such as Domo, plus interest in learning SQL and data-warehouse querying.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, with Epicor Kinetic considered a plus.
• Ability to manage several recurring deliverables and competing priorities independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Background

• Hands-on experience with SQL or querying a data warehouse such as Redshift.
• Exposure to Domo reporting or similar BI tools.
• Experience with TMS platforms and international freight processes, including customs documentation, forwarders, and brokers.
• Internship or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
• Interest in process improvement and root-cause analysis.

Strong performance can lead toward Senior Analyst expectations, including more independent problem-solving, proactively identifying issues, and owning function-level KPIs, with a longer-term path into broader analysis and leadership.
