Lab Technicians

Role overview

This position is for a precise and dependable laboratory technician to support day-to-day lab operations and help ensure testing is carried out efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. The role focuses on producing trustworthy results, maintaining accurate records, and preparing clear reports for the laboratory manager.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, collect, and, where required, examine samples or materials using the appropriate testing tools.
• Set up and run laboratory tests in line with approved procedures, note observations, and interpret the outcomes.
• Document experimental data and test findings accurately in the required written or digital format.
• Store chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases correctly and in accordance with safety rules.
• Follow laboratory safety practices consistently and ensure compliance at all times.
• Maintain daily activity logs and equipment registers.
• Clean, sterilize, service, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Reorder lab consumables and supplies when needed.
• Offer technical assistance whenever required.
• Stay informed about relevant scientific advances and technical updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Valid laboratory technician license.
• Previous experience in a laboratory technician role.
• Hands-on experience using both electrical and non-electrical lab equipment.
• Comfortable working with hazardous materials such as flammable liquids and biohazards.
• Strong understanding of QHSE systems, preventive controls, and accepted laboratory practices.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and database software.
• Ability to work independently and remain effective under pressure.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and solid analytical ability.
