Junior PR Manager (m/w/d) – Remote oder Berlin

Role Overview

This position is for a Junior PR Manager at getpress GmbH, with the option to work remotely across Germany or from the Berlin office. The role is focused on hands-on public relations work with a strong emphasis on media relations, tailored story development, and direct journalist outreach. It is a full-time position with a long-term perspective and an unbefristet contract.

What You Will Do

• Develop customized PR story angles and pitch them directly to journalists instead of relying on generic press releases or mass outreach.
• Support and advise clients from different industries in both strategic and operational tasks, typically working in a two- to three-person team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists across business, GI, and specialist media, and secure placements in relevant editorial discussions.
• Work toward measurable outcomes using clear KPIs, daily media contact, and close client management.
• Network actively with key journalists in important media outlets across the DACH region and Europe.
• Use the company’s internal AI stack for research, pitch preparation, and topic scouting, freeing up time for high-value relationship work and creative thinking.

What You Bring

• At least one year of professional experience in proactive media relations, ideally gained in a PR agency or communications team with media outreach and content creation.
• Previous client-facing experience and a track record of securing placements in major German media outlets.
• A practical, self-starting mindset with the ability to solve problems independently when things do not go as planned.
• Interest in AI and prior experience with LLMs or AI workflows, along with a willingness to help shape the company’s internal system.
• Fluency in German at C2 level and business-level English.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape and the ability to identify relevant topics and compelling stories across a wide range of subject areas, including finance, real estate, and construction.
• Comfort with a dynamic PR environment and a clear ambition to keep developing toward a PR Manager role and beyond.
• Willingness to work in a role centered on PR rather than social media or marketing.
• Valid work authorization for Germany is required.
