Overview

Inspired Villages is hiring a dependable and compassionate Housekeeping Assistant for a premium retirement village in Southampton. The role supports a high-quality living environment for residents by keeping private homes and shared spaces clean, comfortable, and inviting. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining excellent standards and enjoys working in a warm, community-minded setting.

What You’ll Do

Keep assigned areas clean, orderly, hygienic, and pleasant for residents and visitors.
Carry out housekeeping tasks in residents’ homes with respect, care, and discretion.
Ensure communal spaces remain tidy, well maintained, and visually presentable.
Vacuum, shampoo carpets, polish furniture, and clean woodwork and other floor surfaces.
Empty waste bins, replace liners, and follow the correct waste disposal process.
Clean glass and windows that are safely within reach.
Complete laundry duties efficiently while maintaining a high standard.
Work in line with COSHH requirements and help maintain a safe working environment.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or similar residential support work. You should be self-driven, approachable, and comfortable communicating with residents, teammates, and visitors. Flexibility is important, as the schedule may change according to priorities and shift patterns. A working knowledge of infection prevention, COSHH, and general compliance is helpful, though training will be provided.
