Role Overview

An opportunity is available in Qatar for an Electrical Project Engineer. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, tracking, and controlling projects in a structured and efficient way. When acting as a project coordinator, the role involves aligning with team members, different trades, and stakeholders to keep work moving smoothly. The position also contributes as a discipline specialist on projects by delivering electrical or discipline-specific scope and outputs.

Job Purpose

The role supports project delivery through disciplined planning and control, regular reporting, KPI and CAPEX updates, and active cost management within assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

This position covers project coordination, engineering support, procurement follow-up, and contract coordination. It requires regular communication with requisitioners, internal teams, external stakeholders, production, and maintenance counterparts to ensure efficient execution.

The role also includes preparing periodic reports on cost, scheduling, phasing, forecasts, accruals, KPIs, and scorecard changes, as well as participating in review meetings. The engineer must apply the correct codes, standards, design basis, specifications, engineering procedures, and good engineering practices while supporting project delivery. In addition, the position works with the engineering team to review deliverables thoroughly and assist with site execution.

On the procurement and contracting side, the role involves selecting suitable contract strategies, identifying vendors, building tender documents for equipment and services, carrying out technical evaluations, supporting commercial assessment of bids, and ensuring compliance with procedures and governance from tendering through contract completion.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. The role requires more than 10 years of direct, relevant experience in large EPCC projects within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer sectors. Experience in ammonia and urea fertilizer plants or projects will be considered an advantage.

Applicants should also bring strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, solid computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
