Electrical Installation Engineer – Smart Utility Systems

Role Overview

This position is for an experienced electrical installation professional to oversee site-based execution of electrical systems and related infrastructure for smart utility projects in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and timely installation activities across project locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supervision of electrical system, equipment, and infrastructure installation at project sites.
• Verify that all work aligns with approved drawings, electrical codes, and utility requirements.
• Perform site walkthroughs, installation verification, and quality checks.
• Detect installation defects, investigate issues, and close out non-conformities.
• Plan and coordinate schedules, manpower deployment, and resources to keep work on track.
• Work closely with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
• Assess method statements, risk assessments, and related technical documents.
• Guide junior engineers and installation crews with practical technical support.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and final project handover.
• Maintain compliance with ISO requirements, HSE rules, and risk control procedures.
• Prepare and keep accurate reports, records, and inspection documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 9 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation and site supervision.
• Good understanding of electrical standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to smart utility metering installation standards will be considered an advantage.
• Proven ability in installation oversight, inspection, troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are an added benefit.
