Role overview

The Cost Controller will support capital project cost management activities, including reporting, forecasting, invoice review, budget tracking, and project close-out documentation. This role is based onsite and is tied to a contract opportunity with a planned start date of 31 March 2026.

Key duties

  • Prepare capital project cost reports and explain budget or actual variances.
  • Review, code, and attest vendor invoices, and help complete progress billings.
  • Track, forecast, and report on work completed under In-Service Failure programs.
  • Create monthly capital accrual entries.
  • Set up work orders so costs can be monitored accurately.
  • Develop project forecasts, capital budget change orders, contract change orders, and cost flow reports.
  • Prepare requisitions, Purchasing Exception Reports, and Approval to Awards documents.
  • Review and compile quarterly commitment analyses.
  • Complete project close-out files such as Asset Assignment Forms, Interest cut-off forms, and related documentation.
  • Handle other ad hoc reporting as needed.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline is required. The employer is looking for someone with demonstrated cost control experience, ideally within a capital project setting.
