Role overview
We are looking for a ServiceNow Change & Release Manager to take charge of planning, coordinating, and governing platform changes and releases in a large enterprise ServiceNow setup. The position focuses on keeping every platform change controlled, validated, and deployed in a repeatable way so that risk stays low while delivery continues smoothly.
The right candidate will have a solid command of ServiceNow change and release practices, with the ability to run release cycles, uphold process discipline, and protect platform stability.
What you will do
- Manage the full change and release flow, including request governance, release planning, scheduling, and deployment coordination across environments.
- Make sure every change is clearly documented, properly reviewed, formally approved, and aligned to platform standards and release procedures.
- Partner with delivery teams to align releases with development timelines, coordinate enhancements and fixes, and confirm that release packages are ready.
- Lead governance forums such as CAB meetings, review and approve change requests, and track decisions and follow-up actions.
- Support release execution by coordinating update set promotion across environments, maintaining correct change sequencing, and checking release readiness before deployment.
- Track release calendars, dependencies, change-related risks, impacts, and any issues that appear after release, then support remediation as needed.
- Act as a control function for platform stability by enforcing release discipline, preventing conflicting or unmanaged changes, and ensuring rollback and contingency plans are available.
- Communicate release plans and schedules to stakeholders, set expectations around delivery and deployment, and provide visibility into upcoming changes.
Experience and skills needed
- 6 to 10+ years of experience in change, release, or service management roles, with ServiceNow exposure.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow change management and release workflows.
- Hands-on understanding of update sets and the deployment lifecycle.
- Familiarity with environment management across DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD.
- Proven background in change governance, including CAB-style processes.
- Experience handling release planning, release execution, and coordination across multiple delivery streams.
- Ability to work with structured standards, balance speed with stability, and coordinate effectively with several teams and stakeholders.
- Good grasp of release risk management, dependency handling, sequencing, and the wider impact of changes on incidents and problems.
- Capability to stay composed in high-pressure release situations and ensure disciplined execution.
Preferred background
- Experience with large-scale or multi-module ServiceNow environments.
- Exposure to agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Working knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices in ServiceNow.
Certifications
ITIL certification is preferred. CSA certification is an added advantage for platform familiarity.
