Role Summary
This role sits within a team that creates and reviews statistical content for professional sports broadcasts. The analyst prepares specialized stats and related material that broadcasters and researchers use before games and during live coverage.
The schedule for this position is flexible and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays to support live events across NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, and college sports.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, review, and tailor reports to match client-specific requirements.
- Create forward-looking insights and game notes for pregame, live, and postgame coverage.
- Use SQL to produce charts and reports from large data sets.
- Support quality checks and ongoing upkeep of the research platform and data sets.
- Work with ticketing systems to communicate with clients and monitor issue resolution internally.
- Apply sports knowledge to turn data into useful broadcast insights.
- Deliver work within tight and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Spot potential data or quality issues and raise them promptly.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Required Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous exposure to programming or coding is strongly preferred, especially SQL, XML, Python, HTML, or CSS.
- Good working knowledge of major North American sports, including NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, and college sports.
- Comfortable performing under pressure while keeping a positive approach.
- Highly self-driven with solid organization and time management abilities.
- Able to juggle several tasks while prioritizing accurately and maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Able to identify opportunities proactively and suggest process improvements.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively to resolve technical issues quickly.
- Experience in data analytics and reporting is an advantage.
- Genuine enthusiasm for sports.
- Willingness to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base salary for this role is between USD 50,000 and USD 58,000 per year. Final pay will depend on role-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, qualifications, and location.
In addition to base pay, the company offers a strong rewards package that may include comprehensive health benefits, a performance bonus program, equity stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility.
