Role overview
In this position, you will be responsible for the avionics architecture that determines how the aircraft senses, communicates, and operates. The role covers modern avionics systems and spans the complete development cycle, from defining requirements through integration and certification.
Responsibilities
- Create and further develop avionics system architectures.
- Integrate and configure avionics equipment and systems.
- Define, track, and maintain system and interface requirements.
- Draft, update, and maintain technical documents, including system specifications, interface control documents, wiring diagrams, and certification-related deliverables.
- Provide technical input for prototype assembly, system integration, and production activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee system, integration, and test work.
- Work closely with internal departments and with outside suppliers and partners.
Requirements
- A degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related field.
- Practical experience with Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
- Background in avionics engineering or electrical systems engineering.
- Good understanding of cockpit systems, electrical systems, bus architectures, and overall system integration.
- Very strong written and spoken English skills.
- A structured, analytical, and solution-focused way of working.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with common engineering and design tools, such as EWIS or harness-design software.
- Knowledge of relevant aerospace certification standards, including EWIS-related rules such as CS/FAR 25.1701 and following, or comparable requirements.
- German language ability.
