Analyst (IT Network) - DIS

Role overview

This position focuses on keeping the computing and networking backbone of the Cyber Evaluation Test and Experimentation Centre (CyTEC) running effectively. The role is centered on maintaining infrastructure that supports training, testing, and cyber exercise activities.

What you'll do

• Support the setup of IT components for exercise networks and cyber defence toolsets used in CyTEC training programmes.
• Act as the key technical specialist for creating virtual networks using hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
• Connect virtual environments with operational technology testbeds, prototypes, and digital twins to build end-to-end training setups.
• Respond quickly to new operational requirements by developing suitable training networks in a timely manner.
• Build and upkeep realistic environments that reflect the complexity of protecting IT systems in operational settings.

• Keeping up with emerging IT trends so infrastructure remains aligned with future operational demands.
• Maintaining strong technical and cyber capabilities in the networking domain to understand what is needed for defending IT systems in a training context.

What the employer is seeking

• A background in Computer Networks, Computer Science, or another cyber-related field.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting cyber exercises, testbeds, or training environments is considered an advantage.
• Solid knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including computers, networking, and virtualization tools.
• Possession of relevant cyber certifications will be a plus.
• Working knowledge ranging from basic to intermediate level in cyber defence, monitoring, and investigative tools.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and ESXi.
• The ability to deploy and manage segmented virtual IT networks for training or exercise use.
