Main Purpose of the Role

You will support the Growth Markets team in delivering excellent service to clients throughout the full lifecycle of financing transactions, ensuring alignment with internal procedures, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The position combines market analysis, client support, transaction execution, reporting, and broader team assistance.

  • Monitor macroeconomic and sector developments in emerging markets and turn them into insights that help shape origination plans.
  • Support senior team members in finding and onboarding target clients in strategic Growth Markets sectors, while coordinating with product partners such as DCM Loans, Structured Finance, Transaction Banking, Derivatives, and related teams.
  • Assist with deal screening papers, account plans, return analysis, client proposals, call notes, and presentation materials for marketing and credit work.
  • Help prepare pitch books, financial models, and transaction documents; coordinate internal sign-offs and work with internal and external legal teams and borrowers to move negotiations forward and complete documentation efficiently to a high standard, while protecting MUFG’s preferred position where possible.
  • Maintain internal systems with market and transaction information and support regulatory and internal reporting needs.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the broader team, including coordination with compliance, middle office, back office, and other departments, as well as handling process waivers where appropriate.
  • Assist department and team heads with strategy documents, financial information, and planning-related activities when needed.

Work Experience

This position requires 12 to 24 months of experience in a credit or coverage role at an international financial institution. Experience in or exposure to emerging markets is preferred.

Skills and Experience

You should bring a solid understanding of corporate and investment banking products, analytical strength, strong presentation ability, and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Working knowledge of lending, debt capital markets, blended and development finance, rates and commodity derivatives, transaction banking, export/trade finance, project finance, and M&A finance.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Understanding of credit risk principles and legal documentation.
  • Ability to handle several priorities at once and stay organized.
  • Experience producing client pitches and presentation decks.
