Role overview
This position involves servicing utility-scale wind turbines in an offshore wind farm, with work carried out at significant height and in variable marine weather conditions. The role is centered on keeping turbine assets safe, reliable, and available through a mix of planned upkeep and urgent fault response.
Key duties
You will carry out scheduled inspection and maintenance tasks on turbine components, including gearbox checks, blade pitch calibration, yaw drive lubrication, and hydraulic brake servicing. The work also includes diagnosing pitch and converter issues from the nacelle, tightening foundation bolts to the required torque, and replacing consumable or worn parts such as slip rings and filters.
Daily activity combines preventive maintenance with unscheduled call-outs when alarms appear in the SCADA system. Before any task begins, you will coordinate lifts and isolations with the control room and ensure work is completed safely and recorded accurately.
Working conditions
The role is based offshore in Singapore and requires climbing and working on turbines around ninety meters above open water. You should be comfortable working in changing weather conditions and being deployed from a service operations vessel. The assignment follows two-week crew rotations.
Requirements
Candidates must hold GWO Working at Heights and Sea Survival certification, have rope-access capability, and be medically cleared for offshore work. Comfort with high-altitude offshore environments is essential.
