Role Overview
Aosom Canada is looking for a seasoned Warehouse Manager to take charge of a newly launched 250,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Halton Hills, Ontario. The company provides warehousing and transportation services for large eCommerce businesses, and this position will play a key role in keeping the site running efficiently.
The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including staffing plans, stock management, workflow improvement, safety standards, and coordination of inbound and outbound movement. This role calls for confident leadership, hands-on experience in large warehouse environments, and a solid command of warehouse management systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and ongoing management of a large distribution warehouse, including racking, equipment, shipping, receiving, and operational workflows.
- Run the warehouse in line with company policies, goals, and overall direction.
- Supervise receiving, storage, distribution, and maintenance activities.
- Oversee basic upkeep of machinery used in the warehouse.
- Schedule inspections and monitor the condition of warehouse tools and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling of materials used in shipping and receiving.
- Plan the warehouse layout to maximize space and operational efficiency.
- Create, implement, and maintain effective operating procedures and controls.
- Ensure compliance with warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations.
- Maintain strong standards for health, safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Track inventory accurately and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Work closely with clients, suppliers, and transportation partners.
- Organize shift rotations, assign duties, and assess team performance.
- Hire, onboard, train, support, and motivate warehouse employees.
- Respond quickly to customer service issues and resolve operational concerns.
- Prepare regular reports and operational metrics such as inbound/outbound status and dead stock summaries.
- Review service quality and use feedback to improve performance.
Qualifications
- Quick to learn, with strong technical reasoning and analytical thinking.
- Prior experience working as a warehouse manager is required.
- At least 5 years of warehouse management experience.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes and industry best practices.
- Background in retail or eCommerce warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements.
- Good understanding of warehouse KPIs and performance tracking.
- Practical experience with warehouse ERP systems and databases.
- Ability to lead teams and manage staff effectively.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration.
- English and Mandarin would be considered an advantage.

Compensation
The annual base salary for this role is CA$70,000 to CA$90,000.
