Description de l'emploi
Role overview
Dungarvan Transport is hiring a Transport Planner for its Dungarvan office in Garryduff Colligan, Dungarvan, County Waterford. This is a full-time position arranged on a flexible five-day schedule, with weekends included. The company operates a fleet of more than 70 trucks and serves a wide range of customers across pharma, dairy, bulk liquids, and container import/export work.
In this role, you will take responsibility for coordinating a section of the haulage fleet on a day-to-day basis. The position calls for strong organisation, clear communication, and the ability to stay composed in a busy transport environment. You will help ensure that drivers are scheduled effectively, customer requirements are met, and fleet use is kept as efficient as possible.
Key duties
- Build and manage daily driver schedules, assigning collections and deliveries while tracking live progress against customer needs.
- Monitor driver tachograph hours, route planning, and working time compliance requirements.
- Work with the garage team to plan servicing, CVRTs, and repair work so disruption to operations is kept to a minimum.
- Serve as the main contact for customers, sharing delivery updates proactively and handling problems quickly.
- Keep records accurate and up to date within the Transport Management System.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will have prior exposure to transport or logistics planning, along with a practical understanding of trucks, driver hours, compliance rules, and Irish geography. Experience with Transport Management Systems and vehicle tracking software is useful, although training will be provided. The role also requires strong people skills, the ability to work closely with drivers and clients, and comfort working in a busy office and garage setting where teamwork matters.
Working pattern and additional information
This position follows a five-day working pattern and includes weekends. Weekend work is remote. The company offers office-based training, a company phone, and a benefits package that includes healthcare cover and an annual bonus. Additional benefits mentioned include a company pension scheme, life cover, bike-to-work support, and health insurance for employees with discounted cover available for family members.
How to apply
Interested candidates can submit their CV by email to the contact provided by the employer.
