Role Summary
The Tour Consultant position is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Nairobi. The role focuses on guiding clients through travel options, building personalized itineraries, and coordinating guided tours and other travel services. It involves responding to client queries, sharing destination details, preparing quotations, and arranging transport, accommodation, and activity bookings. The consultant also supports travelers before and during their trips, handles issues quickly when they arise, keeps reservation and customer records accurate, maintains relationships with service providers, updates travel-related documentation, and helps create new tour packages.
Qualifications
- Background or practical knowledge in travel consulting and tourism is useful for creating itineraries, advising clients, and handling tour packages.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities are needed to manage inquiries, assist travelers, and build lasting client relationships.
- Experience with guided tours is valuable for organizing, coordinating, or leading tours and ensuring a strong traveler experience.
- Training or qualifications in tourism, hospitality, business, or a related area are an advantage.
- Familiarity with regional and international destinations, travel rules, and booking systems is beneficial.
- Good English skills are required; knowledge of additional local or international languages is a plus.
- Prior work in a travel agency, tour operation business, or hospitality setting is preferred.
