Description de l'emploi

About Northern Trust

Northern Trust is a long-established global financial services firm and a Fortune 500 company. Operating continuously since 1889, it serves sophisticated clients around the world with a focus on service quality, expertise, integrity, and technology-backed solutions.

The Transfer Agency function supports fund administration work for a wide range of fund management companies. Its scope includes shareholder dealing, registration, settlements, distributions, commissions, and statements. The broader team also assists operational units with technical support, handles complaints independently, reviews processes, coordinates audit visits, and prepares management information and analysis.

Role Overview

The Technical Coordinator for Investor AML plays a hands-on role in supporting operational efficiency, maintaining quality controls, and helping ensure that AML-related work is completed accurately and on time. The position may include acting as a subject matter resource for more junior colleagues and, where needed, guiding day-to-day operational tasks without holding a formal management title.

Key Duties

  • Assist the Team Leader in managing workflow distribution and making effective use of available staff.
  • Handle assigned work accurately and within required timelines, including items processed through Northern Trust’s workflow system.
  • Review investor records and supporting documents in line with AML policies and procedures.
  • Work with colleagues and managers to identify missing due diligence documents and escalate material issues appropriately.
  • Support the resolution of more complex cases and critical issues, including queries raised by other Northern Trust teams, especially the Investor AML team in Ireland.
  • Respond to internal queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Provide support for Ireland and UK Investor AML processes, and share regular, clear, and accurate updates with line management and colleagues in Bangalore, Pune, and Ireland.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Investor AML team in Ireland.
  • Help ensure support teams in Bangalore and Pune continue to meet audit, risk, and compliance expectations, especially when processes or regulations change.
  • Stay current on Investor AML best practices and use that knowledge to improve internal procedures.
  • Take on additional workload when required because of volume spikes or staff absence.
  • Follow the global AML regulatory framework relevant to the role and ensure the same standards are upheld by direct and indirect reports where applicable.
  • Work with care, diligence, and strong judgment so that duties remain controlled within compliance, regulation, and risk requirements.
  • Demonstrate proper standards of business, market, and personal conduct in day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • Practical understanding of AML processes and procedures, along with familiarity with the wider fund administration environment.
  • Prior experience working in AML.
  • Good organizational ability and strong communication skills.
  • Sound approach to risk awareness and control.
  • Ability to investigate complex issues, understand them quickly, and work toward solutions agreed with management.
  • General awareness of the global Investor AML regulatory landscape.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools relevant to the role.
  • A bachelor’s degree with a focus such as Accounting is preferred, and professional or part-professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA Inter/Master degree, IAQ, IOC, or similar are considered an advantage.
  • Background in audit, operational control, risk, accounting, financial services, capital markets, or similar work is preferred.
  • Willingness to work shifts and longer hours when needed.
