Team Member - Waitara

Role overview

Ampol is looking for a Retail Team Member in Waitara, New South Wales. The position is part of a convenience retail environment where the focus is on making every customer visit fast, easy, and welcoming. You will help keep the store running smoothly while delivering friendly service to people stopping in for fuel, essentials, and other everyday needs.

What you will do

In this role, you will support day-to-day store performance through merchandising, stock handling, inventory control, and accurate point-of-sale activity. You will also be responsible for end-of-shift cash balancing and helping maintain a safe, orderly, and customer-ready store.

• Provide service that puts customers first and aims to exceed expectations.
• Assist the Store Manager with routine retail operations.
• Work cooperatively with the team to keep shifts running smoothly.
• Maintain accuracy, safety, and strong attention to detail in all tasks.
• Be available for weekend work and overnight shifts when required.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in retail or customer service, along with confidence using POS systems and handling cash correctly. Strong communication skills, a team-focused approach, and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster are important, including availability for nights and weekends.

Pay rates for retail Team Member positions are governed by the Vehicle Repair, Services and Retail Award 2020. You can review the relevant current award rates under section 16 of the award.
