Role Overview
Thermax is looking for an experienced Team Lead for E&I Bought Outs within TBWES OEM, based in Pune. This role sits in the Materials function and calls for deep knowledge of electrical and instrumentation bought-out packages, especially for boiler, heater, burner, fuel system, and related applications.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of procurement and end-to-end management of E&I bought-out items to support project and operational needs.
- Use strong Thermax product understanding to assess bought-out needs for boilers, heaters, burners, fuel systems, and associated packages.
- Read, interpret, and apply technical specifications, scope boundaries, and interface requirements accurately.
- Use procurement tools and workflows effectively for planning, execution, tracking, and reporting.
- Drive vendor sourcing, evaluation, development, and ongoing performance management for E&I bought-out packages.
- Make sure vendors fully understand technical expectations, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Handle purchase execution, scheduling, and expediting so materials are available on time.
- Apply sound commercial and costing judgment while comparing offers, negotiating, and closing orders.
- Align E&I bought-outs with project milestones and site execution requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Projects, Fabrication, Planning, and Quality teams.
- Maintain adherence to procurement policies, governance requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Review MIS, dashboards, and reports covering cost, delivery, and supplier performance.
- Support audits and reviews related to E&I procurement with complete and accurate documentation.
- Lead, guide, and develop the E&I bought-outs team with clear accountability and role ownership.
Key Competencies
The role requires strong product understanding, procurement system knowledge, experience in electrical and instrumentation bought-outs, and the ability to manage burner-related scopes with safety and compliance in mind. It also calls for vendor management capability, schedule control, commercial acumen, and the leadership skills needed to manage and develop a team effectively.
