Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Dubai is for a Steel Fixer responsible for preparing and installing reinforcement steel for concrete structures. The job involves reading drawings and layouts, measuring and shaping rebar and mesh, placing and securing reinforcement, and using the right tools and equipment on site. The role also includes working with supervisors and other trade staff, verifying alignment and quality, keeping the work area orderly, and following all safety requirements. When needed, the Steel Fixer may also support basic welding or rigging activities and must escalate any site risks or concerns to management.

Key Duties

• Review structural drawings and site plans to understand reinforcement requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, position, and fasten steel bars and mesh for concrete work.
• Prepare and mark work areas before installation begins.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment safely and correctly.
• Work alongside site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to keep work moving smoothly.
• Check the placement, alignment, and overall quality of installed reinforcement.
• Keep the job area clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift.
• Assist with basic welding or rigging tasks when required by the site team.
• Report hazards, defects, or work issues promptly to site management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hands-on experience with steel reinforcement work, including cutting, bending, and fixing rebar.
• Ability to operate power tools and standard construction equipment safely.
• Working knowledge of basic welding methods used in steel fixing tasks.
• Understanding of fall protection systems and safe practices while working at height.
• Familiarity with rigging methods for moving and lifting steel materials on site.
• Capability to read and follow structural drawings and on-site instructions.
• Prior experience in a Steel Fixer role or a similar construction trade.
• Strong commitment to safety, dependability, and teamwork in a multicultural workplace.
• Physical fitness for manual work, including lifting, standing for long periods, and outdoor work.

Work Environment

This role is performed on site in Dubai and involves active construction work in outdoor conditions. It requires close coordination with multiple project stakeholders and adherence to safe working methods at all times.
