Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Site Engineer position based in Gold Coast, QLD. The role centers on day-to-day engineering support for rail projects, with responsibility for supervising site activities, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, and maintaining strong safety and quality compliance.

Key Duties

You will contribute to the smooth delivery of works by carrying out site measurements, tracking construction progress, reviewing design outputs and construction methods, and supporting the preparation of QA records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and project registers. The position also includes involvement in risk reviews and workshops, production of technical reports and site records, and support for planning, scheduling, and progress updates. In addition, you will work closely with project managers and senior engineers to tackle technical issues and help manage cost and program outcomes while keeping work efficient and safe.

Required Background

The position calls for solid hands-on experience in rail, civil, or structural construction settings, with the ability to operate safely and effectively in the field. You should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients, and be able to prepare clear technical documentation and communicate effectively.

A working understanding of quality control processes is important, including inspection and testing, QA documentation, and compliance with relevant standards and procedures. A civil or structural engineering background is preferred, and candidates with strong interest or experience in rail infrastructure are encouraged to apply. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, is expected.

You should also be familiar with construction methods, risk assessments, and project management tools such as scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting. Confidence using standard engineering and office software, including CAD tools, MS Office, and project planning applications, is also required. A strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
