Site Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Site Electrical Engineer to lead and oversee electrical construction work at the project site. In this role, you will make sure all electrical installations follow approved drawings, project specifications, relevant codes, quality expectations, and schedule commitments while working closely with consultants, contractors, and teams from other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and supervise electrical installation activities on site to ensure they match approved drawings and project requirements.
• Examine electrical shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and supporting technical documents.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, architectural, mechanical, and other project teams.
• Carry out site inspections to confirm installation quality and compliance with contractual and technical standards.
• Oversee the correct installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Follow up on contractor progress and help keep electrical works on schedule.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, international electrical standards, and health and safety rules.
• Prepare and assess inspection requests, test records, snag lists, and punch lists.
• Take part in project meetings and contribute technical input, progress updates, and recommendations.
• Review as-built documentation and confirm completed electrical works before handover.
• Assist with assessing technical variations, change orders, and site changes.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, approvals, test outcomes, and site activities.
• Support final testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical site supervision for construction projects.
• Background in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, low-current systems, grounding, and lightning protection.
• Working knowledge of local and international electrical codes and standards.
• Professional engineering registration or a similar accreditation is an added advantage.
• Ability to use AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office effectively.
• Capable of reviewing electrical drawings, calculations, and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, QA/QC procedures, and inspection workflows.
• Experience with project management software will be beneficial.
• Strong supervision and coordination abilities on site.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
• Solid technical knowledge of electrical systems.
• High attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Good time management and ability to perform under pressure.

Eligibility

Professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant site supervision experience in construction projects are suitable for this role. Candidates with exposure to commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects and familiarity with electrical codes and standards are preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time onsite position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role centers on supervising electrical construction activities, coordinating multidisciplinary work, ensuring quality control, and supporting commissioning and handover.
