This site-based position offers the chance to gain practical experience across roads, bridges, structures, utilities, drainage, earthworks, aviation, marine works and other heavy civil engineering projects, while strengthening technical, commercial and delivery capabilities.

What the role involves

You will support the planning, setting out, coordination and delivery of civil engineering works on live construction and infrastructure sites across Ireland.

• Carry out site setting out using suitable surveying instruments, ensuring all work matches drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Assist with daily site engineering activities across civil, infrastructure and construction works.
• Contribute to planning, sequencing, coordination and progress tracking on site.
• Verify levels, measurements, quality records, as-built details and technical paperwork.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and design information to support correct delivery.
• Work alongside Site Agents, Senior Engineers, Project Managers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Help maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Keep accurate site records, daily reports, QA documents and engineering files.

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a similar engineering field
• Background in a site-based engineering role within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or heavy civils
• Practical experience with setting out, surveying, levels, measurements, drawings, specifications and quality checks
• Good technical understanding and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and design information
• A hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication, teamwork, organisation and problem-solving ability
• Commitment to health and safety, quality, environmental compliance and engineering standards
• A full, clean Irish driving licence

Experience or genuine interest in roads, bridges, structures, drainage, utilities, earthworks, marine works, aviation infrastructure, public works or heavy civils would be an advantage.
