About the Role

NZ Commercial Distributors Limited (NZCD) is a significant name in the automotive industry. The company has recently become the national distributor for Mercedes-Benz Vans in New Zealand and also has a long-standing role as the distributor for the FUSO brand. Through its dealer network, NZCD supports vehicle distribution, parts supply, technical assistance, training, and nationwide aftersales service.

NZCD is seeking a commercially focused Service Contracts Manager to take ownership of the development, performance, and expansion of service contract products across its automotive brands. This position plays a central part in managing the complete lifecycle of the service contract portfolio, strengthening profitability, improving value for customers, and enabling the Sales and Dealer teams to grow contract uptake.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing service contract products from launch through ongoing improvement, while tracking their performance and ensuring they remain commercially effective. The role requires close partnership with sales, dealers, OEMs, and internal teams to support growth, improve penetration, and enhance customer outcomes.

  • Oversee the creation, development, and continuous refinement of service contract products.
  • Track profitability, financial risk, customer adoption, and portfolio results.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Work with Sales, Dealers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to expand uptake and performance.
  • Provide training, resources, and guidance so teams can confidently sell and support service contract products.
  • Use market insight, customer feedback, and performance data to improve offerings and the customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate administration, invoicing, governance, and compliance for contracts.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring commercial experience in a related aftersales, service contract, or product management environment, along with strong analytical ability and a practical understanding of automotive service operations.

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar commercial, aftersales, service contract, or product management position.
  • Strong analysis and reporting capability, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
  • Good understanding of automotive aftersales operations and customer service practices.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance customer needs and business goals.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Valid NZ Class 1 Driver Licence and willingness to travel as needed.

Desirable Experience

  • Qualification in automotive, transport, or business studies.
  • Previous experience working with dealer networks and OEM partners.
  • NZ Class 2 and/or Class 4 HT licences.

Why Join NZCD

  • Take ownership of an important product portfolio with a direct influence on business results.
  • Work closely with Sales, Aftersales, Dealers, and OEM partners.
  • Help shape strategy, customer experience, and commercial performance.
  • Be part of a supportive team within a leading automotive organisation.
