About the role

This is a client-facing Senior Solution Specialist position covering presales engineering and solution delivery across New Zealand, with a strong focus on matching client needs, market direction, and internal capability. The role supports the Head of Cyber Growth in progressing New Zealand growth goals and spans multiple specialist areas while also contributing to the wider development and professionalism of the business.

The position includes people management responsibilities for two direct reports as well as business management duties. It is not intended to be purely a team leadership role, and it also carries delivery and utilisation expectations to be agreed with the Head of Cyber Growth. The role offers hybrid working and can be based in Wellington or Auckland.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle presales and post-sales work, including customer engagement, solution design, and assurance that delivery stays on track.
  • Shape and improve security service offerings, covering architecture, tools, and operating processes that support specific security outcomes.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation and reusable solution materials.
  • Own the quality of solutions and ensure they are practical, secure, and aligned with customer and market requirements.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key technical partners such as CrowdStrike, Netskope, and Darktrace.
  • Contribute to internal programs such as practice growth, standardisation of tools, and process improvement.
  • Work closely with SOC and ACIRT teams and help strengthen those relationships.
  • Provide security training where needed.
  • Offer onsite ITSM support when required.
  • Review technical deliverables and provide peer quality assurance.

General duties

  • Prepare written reports and supporting documentation.
  • Provide oversight on projects and programmes.
  • Manage time and priorities across several engagements and teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and support performance management activities.
  • Develop and present presales and sales materials.
  • Track deadlines, commitments, and exception reporting.
  • Contribute to internal capability building and knowledge sharing.
  • Engage with clients and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background, preferably with knowledge of system administration or systems engineering.
  • Security experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence in customer presentations.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft security products, Netskope, Vectra, and Darktrace is preferred.
