Role overview
Tourism New Zealand is a destination marketing organisation focused on enriching Aotearoa New Zealand and everyone who visits. Its work centres on showcasing New Zealand as a compelling travel destination in a way that also supports the country and its people.
This full-time fixed-term position is based in Auckland and will cover parental leave from October.
What this role does
The Senior Public Relations Executive plays a key part in strengthening and promoting New Zealand’s profile as a premium travel destination. Working closely with the Public Relations Manager, you will help deliver global PR activity that earns international media coverage and raises awareness of Tourism New Zealand’s brand.
The role involves overseeing major campaigns and high-profile tentpole activations from concept through to delivery. You will also create distinctive, engaging content that encourages preference for Aotearoa through storytelling across earned media channels.
This position is important for extending the reach and influence of destination-led stories, while managing the end-to-end planning, design and execution of high-quality PR campaigns and projects. It also includes coordinating supporting PR assets, managing production on the ground in New Zealand, and ensuring strong health and safety practices along with effective stakeholder coordination.
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone with deep PR experience who can combine creative thinking with practical delivery. You should be comfortable leading complex projects, working with agencies and media partners, and delivering polished results in a fast-moving environment.
This opportunity suits someone who enjoys balancing innovation with execution and wants to contribute to an award-winning team working with agencies and stakeholders to take the 100% Pure New Zealand brand to the world.
