Role overview
Join the Singapore manufacturing team as a Senior Operations Technician, where you will take the lead on daily production work, support and coach operators, and partner with engineering and quality teams to help deliver safe, compliant, and dependable supply. The role calls for hands-on problem solving to clear operational blockers and improve the way the team works. This is a practical leadership position with room to grow and a chance to contribute meaningfully in a science- and technology-driven environment.
What you will do
- Run shift production activities during the day shift so safety, quality, and output goals are achieved.
- Handle equipment setup, changeovers, and shift handovers while following the correct procedures and documentation requirements.
- Coach and support junior technicians and operators through training on the job and constructive feedback.
- Perform routine checks, basic servicing, and preventive maintenance using hand tools, and coordinate with engineers when issues need advanced support.
- Assist with investigations into process or equipment issues by collecting evidence and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify and drive small improvement initiatives that raise efficiency, cut waste, or strengthen quality.
- Take day-to-day responsibility for safe and compliant operations in your assigned area.
- Keep batch records, logbooks, and related documents accurate and aligned with good documentation practices.
- Lead effective shift handovers and team briefings to keep work organized and information clear.
- Work with engineering, quality, and materials teams to resolve issues and protect supply continuity.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the work area remains safe and clean.
- Support readiness for campaigns, trials, or new process introductions when needed.
Requirements
- NITEC, ITE, Polytechnic diploma, or another equivalent technical qualification.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in manufacturing, production, or technical trades.
- Hands-on experience operating and maintaining production or utility equipment.
- Proven ability to supervise or mentor colleagues in a production setting.
- Strong spoken and written English, with solid record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work full-time on site during the day shift and support handovers as needed.
Preferred background
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices and a strong quality-first mindset.
- Exposure to basic troubleshooting methods and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment and inventory processes.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and use of production systems.
- Interest in progressing toward technical specialist, process support, or supervisory roles.
