Senior Manager – Operational Risk

Role overview

This contract position is for an experienced Senior Manager in Operational Risk to support a strategic BCBS 239 / RDARR delivery programme in Dublin. The successful candidate will act as part of the Second Line of Defence, providing independent review, challenge, and assurance so the programme meets regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the full 2LoD validation approach in line with BCBS 239 principles.
• Oversee independent checks across data governance, data quality, data lineage, controls, and risk reporting.
• Offer robust challenge and oversight to the first line programme team.
• Work closely with stakeholders in Risk, Data, Technology, and senior governance committees.
• Monitor validation results, issues, challenges, and agreed remediation activity.
• Assist with regulatory interactions, supervisory reviews, and internal audit support.
• Prepare detailed reporting, governance packs, and documentation suitable for audit and review purposes.

Experience and requirements

• Substantial background in Operational Risk, Risk Assurance, Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, or a similar discipline.
• Solid working knowledge of BCBS 239 and RDARR expectations.
• Experience in data governance, data quality, controls, risk reporting, or large-scale regulatory change initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
• Strong capability in project coordination, reporting, and documentation.
• Previous exposure to a Second Line of Defence setting is advantageous.
