The team is looking for dependable and professional Security Officers to support a retail site in West End, Queensland. This is a strong opportunity for someone who values professionalism, customer service, and a secure public environment.
About the role
In this position, you will help maintain a safe and well-managed environment while also providing a high level of service to tenants, retailers, and visitors. The work combines patrol duties, incident handling, and direct interaction with the public.
The role is available across full-time, part-time, and casual arrangements.
Potential earnings are aligned to Award Level 2.
Shifts may include weekdays and weekends, as well as both day and night work.
Key duties
- Carry out regular on-foot patrols throughout the shopping centre.
- Maintain a noticeable security presence on site.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to tenants, retailers, and visitors.
- Observe, assess, and act on incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
- Use clear communication and calm conflict-resolution techniques to reduce tension.
- Deal with difficult situations in a respectful and professional manner.
- Assist during busy trading periods and community events.
- Spot, report, and respond to safety hazards and security concerns.
- Prepare incident documentation and coordinate with management and emergency responders as needed.
- Remain physically capable of extended walking and rapid response when necessary.
What you need to bring
Successful candidates should have a current security licence, along with valid First Aid and CPR certification. Prior security experience is required, and retail security experience will be viewed favourably.
You must be available for both day and night shifts, including weekdays and weekends. The role also requires physical fitness, the ability to walk for long periods, and the capacity to respond quickly when needed.
You should be able to work on your own, follow established procedures, and maintain a dependable and punctual work record. Full Australian working rights are essential.
