Role Overview
This position is based in Doha, Qatar, within the Engineering & Facilities function at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha. It is a full-time, non-management role in a luxury hospitality environment. The hotel is a long-established 5-star resort on the Arabian Gulf, featuring guestrooms and suites, restaurants, spa and fitness facilities, pools, a private beach, a club lounge, and event spaces. The role supports the property’s commitment to refined service, Qatari hospitality, and the brand’s Gold Standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Handle guest maintenance requests and communicate with guests to resolve issues.
- Carry out preventive upkeep on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery visually and perform basic operational checks.
- Transport tools, radios, and other required equipment while working.
- Locate and use shut-off valves and utility cut-offs for equipment and buildings when needed.
- Track maintenance stock and request parts or supplies as required.
- Share daily work updates and issues with other shifts using approved communication methods.
- Use basic knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy saving, and general building systems.
- Complete surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repairs, wood trim repairs, and replacement of light bulbs and air filters, followed by full cleanup of the work area.
- Test, diagnose, and carry out simple repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, vacuum cleaners, extension cords, internet devices, and similar items.
- Program televisions and complete general housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance activity.
- Repair interior and exterior landscaping elements, including irrigation sprinklers.
- Use basic computer skills for tasks such as entering air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
- Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report hazards, accidents, injuries, and maintenance issues; and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
- Greet guests in line with company standards, respond to service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express appreciation appropriately.
- Maintain quality standards, build positive working relationships, support team goals, and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Be able to move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds without help and heavier items with assistance.
- Work on stairs, ramps, and ladders, and perform bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and similar physical movements as required.
- Use computers to enter and locate work-related information.
- Complete any other reasonable duties assigned by the employer.
Qualifications
The preferred education level is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The role calls for some background in general maintenance, including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is considered an advantage. No supervisory experience is required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

This is a full-time position. The role is not remote and is performed onsite in Doha, Qatar. The position is classified as non-management.
