Overview
The National Fire Ant Eradication Program is one of Australia’s most significant eradication efforts. As part of this work, you’ll contribute to a nationally important biosecurity mission and help deliver outcomes that make a tangible difference in Queensland communities.
This position is a progression-based role under the role description. The person appointed may start at the lower classification and move to the next level once the required criteria have been achieved or shown. The listed pay range reflects both classification levels.
The Queensland Government is looking for a careful, driven Science Technician to assist the Genetics Analysis team with molecular diagnostics and research-related work. This opportunity is suited to someone who wants to build practical laboratory capability while supporting high-value scientific and biosecurity work.
Role summary
In this position, you will collaborate with scientists and other technical staff to carry out routine lab tasks, assist with molecular diagnostic testing, uphold laboratory standards, and support research activities. The job provides varied day-to-day work and exposure to molecular biology methods and laboratory quality systems.
