Role overview
Business Review Group (BRG) is looking for a seasoned Scheduler to deliver specialist planning and scheduling support across Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) projects and programs. Based in Canberra, this role focuses on strengthening schedule quality, governance, and overall project performance in support of Defence capability outcomes.
The successful candidate will work alongside project managers, project controls staff, and other stakeholders to build, maintain, analyse, and report on project schedules, while also contributing to broader scheduling improvement efforts across the organisation.
Key contributions
- Act as a scheduling specialist supporting Defence projects and programs.
- Create, update, and analyse project schedules in line with Defence project management standards and frameworks.
- Help drive strategic scheduling improvements and continuous uplift initiatives within CASG.
- Prepare, assess, and integrate Opportunity and Planning Products (OPP) into COBRA.
- Track schedule progress, flag risks, issues, and interdependencies, and suggest corrective measures where needed.
- Support project controls, governance, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain schedule accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
- Offer scheduling guidance to project teams and senior leaders.
- Take part in schedule assurance work and contribute to improving scheduling maturity across Defence programs.
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in Defence scheduling.
- Hands-on experience preparing and integrating OPP into COBRA.
- Solid understanding of scheduling methods, project controls, and governance structures.
- Strong communication abilities and stakeholder management skills.
Highly desirable background
- Advanced working knowledge of COBRA.
- Experience supporting large Defence acquisition and sustainment programs.
- Familiarity with Defence project management and capability delivery settings.
