Role overview

As a Sales Associate at Staples Canada in Vernon, British Columbia, you will focus on creating a positive shopping experience, building customer relationships, and supporting store performance across furniture, technology, and supplies.

Key duties

• Provide outstanding service that improves customer satisfaction and keeps shoppers engaged.
• Help grow sales in the furniture, technology, and supplies departments.
• Work with store leadership to meet sales and margin targets.
• Support strong store operations while following brand standards.
• Assist with merchandising, signage, planograms, and restocking tasks.
• Follow Health & Safety rules, Asset Protection procedures, and Privacy policies.
• Connect with customers using the available selling tools and techniques to recommend products and services that fit their current and future needs.
• Process transactions through the Point of Sale system, including shipping-related transactions and customer conversion tools.
• Handle difficult customer interactions calmly and either resolve the issue or escalate it to a supervisor or manager.
• Keep the store neat and safe by dusting, facing merchandise, and making sure demo items are clean and working properly.

What you should bring

• Prior retail experience of around 3 months to 1 year is preferred.
• Clear communication and strong customer service abilities.
• Comfort working as part of a team.
