Role overview
Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) is hiring a Receptionist to join its Event Services department in Vancouver. In this term position, you will serve as the initial contact for visitors and callers at the Aquilini Centre West Tower and support the wider Event Services team with administrative tasks. The role focuses on delivering a polished, welcoming, and efficient experience to the public, internal teams, clients, and VIP guests.
This assignment runs from July through September 2026, with a possibility of extension. The job remains open until it is filled.
Key duties
- Welcome visitors and handle incoming callers at the 89 West Georgia reception area in a professional and friendly manner.
- Coordinate the Rogers Arena tour schedule, bookings, and staff coverage so tours run smoothly.
- Support Fan Services by managing email and phone inquiries across the relevant communication channels.
- Operate the switchboard by answering, screening, transferring, and documenting messages accurately and courteously.
- Organize incoming and outgoing courier activity.
- Help manage break and vacation coverage within the CSE intern program.
- Send the daily cafeteria menu to building tenants.
- Monitor and maintain the Reception inbox, replying to requests as needed.
- Keep filing systems and contact databases orderly and up to date.
- Assist with other administrative work as required.
What you bring
- At least 2 years of experience in administrative work and professional reception.
- Confidence working on your own with limited supervision.
- The ability to interact tactfully and professionally with staff, guests, clients, and VIPs at all levels.
- Prior experience supporting high-profile visitors, along with a strong sense of confidentiality.
- A polished personal appearance and professional presence.
- Comfort using MS Office in day-to-day work.
- Strong spoken communication and telephone manners.
- The ability to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced reception setting while keeping a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to learning and staying current with CSE and Rogers Arena activity.
- A clear commitment to CSE values: discipline, respect, excellence, attitude, and mindset (DREAM).
