Role Overview
The Quality Control Technician is tasked with checking manufactured products against defined quality benchmarks and customer specifications. The role helps strengthen continuous improvement by spotting non-conformities, keeping accurate records, and supporting the creation of reliable quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the daily workload and set inspection priorities according to manufacturing demands.
- Inspect items against internal standards, written procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
- Carry out routine checks on electronic sub-assemblies, cables, and hardware assemblies.
- Record deviations linked to process, product, form, fit, or function.
- Track and document every deviation and corrective action, including how the issue was identified and how it was resolved.
- Help close out minor quality issues before products move to the next production stage.
- Work with relevant teams to define product or process standards where gaps exist.
- Ensure any product or process changes are captured in controlled documentation.
- Learn new or bespoke product standards and apply them consistently within internal procedures.
- Confirm that products meet expectations for quality, durability, and performance.
- Test completed products using suitable tools and software.
- Use mechanical and electrical test equipment to verify conformity with required standards.
- Gather, review, and present data such as metrics, reports, and charts.
- Help maintain internal diagnostic programs alongside other departments.
- Support onboarding and training for new team members.
- Contribute to improvement projects and team goals.
- Perform other reasonable duties as needed to meet business requirements.
Education and Experience
Applicants should have A Level education or an equivalent qualification, or relevant practical experience. The role calls for at least 2 years of experience in mechanical quality inspection or a similar field, along with working knowledge of computer hardware or networking.

Working Conditions and Role Requirements
This position is based in a manufacturing or production setting and involves using inspection, testing, and diagnostic equipment. The work includes exposure to mechanical and electrical parts. Some flexibility in working hours may be necessary depending on business needs and in line with the Working Time Regulations 1998.
Physical Requirements
The role must be performable with reasonable adjustments where needed, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. Duties may involve manual handling, including lifting items of up to approximately 20 kg under safe working practices and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. The position also requires regular use of hands for inspection, testing, and operating equipment, as well as standing or sitting for extended periods.
Health and Safety
Employees are expected to follow all company health and safety rules and procedures, take reasonable care of their own safety and that of others under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and use equipment only in line with training and guidance.
Additional Information
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK when they apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Employment depends on satisfactory proof of right to work in line with UK Home Office requirements.
Compensation
The total on-target earnings for this role are £35,000 to £40,000 per year. This figure includes base pay and any target bonus where applicable. The final offer may vary depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
