The Purchaser will handle procurement for construction-related operations in Rwanda. This position focuses on sourcing materials, equipment, and services, comparing supplier offers, negotiating favorable terms, and making sure deliveries arrive on time, with the right quality, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source construction materials, equipment, and related services.
• Request quotes from suppliers and negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up on order progress.
• Work closely with project teams to keep materials available when needed.
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Research the market to find opportunities for cost reduction.
• Check incoming deliveries and help resolve procurement or supply issues.
• Keep procurement documentation, records, and reports accurate and up to date.

Requirements

• Valid Rwanda driving licence is required.
• Must be based in Rwanda and available to work from there.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Officer, preferably in construction.
• Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and organization.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and ERP software.
• Open to travel for supplier meetings and project-related tasks.
• Prior exposure to the construction industry and familiarity with local supplier networks in Rwanda is an advantage.
