About the Role
The Project Manager will oversee the delivery of major construction projects from initial pre-construction stages right through to handover. This position demands strong technical acumen, commercial insight, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and conforming to the quality benchmarks set by Walls Construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive project timelines, scheduling, and logistics strategies.
- Collaborate with design teams to guarantee timely information releases and resolve technical questions.
- Lead meetings focused on design coordination and subcontractor management as necessary.
- Apply project control measures such as progress monitoring, reporting, and risk oversight.
- Direct site activities ensuring the efficient sequence of tasks and adherence to project guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with contractual documents, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.
- Partner with the commercial team for cost management, forecasting, and value engineering.
- Engage in tender evaluations, subcontractor and materials procurement, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation as well as company and project-specific safety procedures.
- Serve as the main liaison for clients, design teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Deliver accurate project progress updates, reports, and KPI-based performance metrics.
- Foster robust, cooperative relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Lead, guide, and inspire project teams, site managers, engineers, and support staff.
- Promote a culture of high performance emphasizing safety, quality, and ongoing improvement.
- Identify and address team training and development needs.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5 to over 10 years of experience managing construction projects with a main contractor.
- Proven success overseeing medium to large-scale projects valued between €10 million and over €150 million.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Comprehensive technical expertise in modern construction techniques, Irish building codes, BCAR compliance, and relevant industry standards.
- Competence using project management software tools.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, contracts management, and procurement.
