Role overview
G.James is looking for an experienced Production Scheduler to join its Specialty Products division in Eagle Farm, Queensland. This position focuses on building, maintaining, and improving production plans within a make-to-order manufacturing setting, with the aim of meeting customer delivery expectations while keeping operations efficient.
In this role, you will serve as the main point of coordination between sales, production, procurement, and logistics. The job requires balancing customer demand against available capacity and helping lift overall business performance.

What the role involves
You will oversee production planning activities to support smooth operations and strong service outcomes across fabrication and manufacturing functions.
Key duties
- Create, maintain, and refine production schedules for fabrication and manufacturing activities.
- Review schedules regularly and make adjustments so customer deadlines are met and operational limits are managed.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, and available capacity to improve output and efficiency.
- Follow order movement from release through to completion and dispatch.
- Partner with Procurement to align material supply with production timing.
- Keep ERP records accurate across planning and inventory processes, using Oracle or EPICS.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement work that supports safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Candidate profile
The ideal person will be organised, analytical, and able to take ownership of scheduling responsibilities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. You should be comfortable working across teams and driving process improvements.
Essential experience and capabilities
- Previous experience in production planning or scheduling within manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and logistics, along with exposure to LEAN and continuous improvement methods.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms, preferably Oracle or EPICS.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound judgement.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and respond effectively to changing demands.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach across departments.
- Initiative and a focus on improving efficiency and outcomes.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a dependable vehicle.
