Processing Officer Part Time

Role overview

This part-time Processing Officer position is based at the Avenal branch in Southland and focuses on preparing parcels and freight for courier delivery. The work supports a parcel network powered by teamwork, technology, and data-informed processes, all aimed at helping deliver for New Zealand.

What you will do

You will help sort, consolidate, and dispatch parcels and freight so they are ready to move through the delivery network. The role contributes to the wider flow of goods through the branch and plays a part in keeping operations running smoothly.

Working hours and pay

• Pay is $26.75 per hour from 1 July.
• Night rate allowance applies until 6:00 am.
• Forklift allowance is also included.
• Shift pattern: Monday to Friday afternoons from 14:00 to 17:30, plus a split shift from Tuesday to Friday mornings from 04:30 to 09:30.

What the role involves

• Sorting, consolidating, and dispatching parcels and freight.
• Supporting safe and efficient movement of items through the branch.
• Working as part of a team in a busy operational environment.

What we are looking for

• Availability to work the specified Monday to Friday afternoon and split-shift morning hours.
• A restricted driver licence, OSH certificate, or F endorsement at a minimum.
• Full legal working rights in New Zealand.
• A strong team mindset with a commitment to personal, team, and site safety.
• Physical capability for demanding work, including lifting up to 25 kg.
• Good attention to detail and sound geographic knowledge.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
