Preschool Assistant Cook

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Cook to support a childcare kitchen team in preparing healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working in an early childhood setting and wants to contribute to children’s growth through nutritious food and a positive daily routine.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks that are appropriate for preschool children.
• Work alongside the kitchen team to help maintain a welcoming and efficient mealtime environment.
• Support a role that combines food preparation with care for young children.
• Contribute in a lively, fast-moving setting where daily tasks can vary.
• Help with small-scale meal preparation, food and supply organization, dishwashing, delivery of meals to classrooms, and keeping the kitchen orderly.
• Carry out related duties when needed, such as laundry, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing toys.
• Handle tasks that may involve physical lifting.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and meet all state-specific preschool cook requirements. At least one year of experience in meal planning, food preparation, and food service while following USDA guidelines is required. A valid Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification is preferred.
