Description de l'emploi
Role overview
The Planning Engineer supports the Project Manager across the full project timeline by handling planning, scheduling, and progress tracking. This position is responsible for examining project schedules, measuring actual progress against the approved baseline, spotting delays and risks early, and suggesting recovery or mitigation actions. The role also involves working closely with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to keep programme activities aligned with key milestones, procurement needs, testing and commissioning requirements, and final delivery targets.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager with programme reviews, progress tracking, schedule analysis, and reporting for the duration of the project.
- Examine the contractor’s baseline schedule, near-term look-ahead plans, recovery schedules, progress updates, critical path, milestones, interface dates, procurement tasks, authority approvals, testing and commissioning activities, IST activities, handover milestones, and close-out obligations.
- Track progress against the approved baseline and advise the Project Manager on schedule risks, delays, corrective actions, recovery steps, and decisions that may be needed from the client or other stakeholders.
- Prepare weekly progress updates, monthly executive reporting packs, dashboards, progress curves, milestone logs, action trackers, and planning inputs for the project risk register.
- Liaise with the main contractor, white space fit-out contractor, vendors, OEM representatives, designers, authorities, and commissioning teams to manage programme interfaces, long-lead item constraints, testing and commissioning dependencies, and handover readiness.
- Review delay matters, schedule impact analyses, recovery submissions, EOT requests, and related programme issues, then provide recommendations to the Project Manager for client consideration.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should bring strong hands-on experience in construction planning, programme management, progress monitoring, schedule analysis, and reporting. Background in data centres, mission-critical environments, industrial facilities, MEP-heavy projects, or fast-track delivery programmes will be an advantage. You should be comfortable using Primavera P6 and other planning, reporting, and dashboard tools used in project controls. The role also calls for capability in delay analysis, schedule impact assessment, recovery planning, and coordinating contractor programme submissions. Familiarity with multi-contractor delivery, EFE/LLI interfaces, commissioning logic, handover sequencing, and authority approval dependencies will be preferred.
