Role Overview

Required Profile
- A doctoral qualification (PhD) or an equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject.
- A strong publication record with at least 5 papers published in SCI/SSCI journals during the last three years.
- Solid knowledge of research methods and ethical standards within the discipline.
- Strong analytical ability and the judgment needed for critical assessment.
- Clear, professional writing skills for delivering concise and helpful reviewer comments.
- Good time management and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- A high level of objectivity and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Previous journal peer-review experience is considered a strong advantage.
- Comfort using online manuscript submission and review platforms.
Core Review Duties
- Judge the originality of submitted work and whether it contributes new knowledge or insights to the subject area.
- Examine whether the research design and methodology are suitable, thorough, and explained well enough to allow replication.
- Check that the paper draws on current, relevant literature and cites it appropriately.
- Assess how clearly the findings and conclusions are presented, and whether the conclusions are supported by the data and meaningful to the field.
- Offer constructive, balanced feedback while pointing out weaknesses, missing elements, and any ethical issues.
- Make a publication recommendation; the editor will then decide whether the manuscript is accepted, revised, or rejected.
