Overview

This contract opportunity is for a Principal IT Business Analyst supporting pharmaceutical and life sciences work in a remote setting. The role focuses on understanding stakeholder information and automation needs, then turning those needs into well-defined business and functional requirements for IT services and solutions.

The position requires pharmaceutical industry experience and is W2 only. The assignment is expected to last more than 4 months, and compensation is $69.23 per hour.

What the Role Involves

  • Work with stakeholder groups to uncover, analyze, validate, specify, and document business and functional needs.
  • Collect use cases and requirements to help shape early-stage concepts and projects within the PV IT team.
  • Partner with business users to make sure their needs are accurately translated into workable IT solutions.
  • Map business processes, define data flows, compare existing and new tools, and help prioritize practical improvements.
  • Produce SDLC deliverables such as business requirements, functional requirements, and traceability matrices.
  • Report to the Associate Director of PV IT.
  • Convert high-level user needs into developer-friendly functional requirements.
  • Keep project stakeholders, end users, project managers, and team members informed about requirement changes, enhancements, issues, and solutions during the project lifecycle.
  • Align with stakeholders to define project vision and scope, and help prioritize gathered requirements with the project team.
  • Gather requirements through interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and similar methods.
  • Prepare documentation such as statements of work, project objectives and metrics, business requirements, use cases, storyboards, functional specifications, and system/end-user guides.
  • Support or deliver training for application users and the IT support team.

Required Background

  • 5 to 7 years of business process analysis experience in a pharmaceutical environment, especially within development sciences.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs, submission sciences, regulatory operations, or preclinical safety is considered an advantage.
  • Strong capability in business process improvement and deviation/CAPA management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in requirements definition and management.
  • Knowledge of user experience design and analysis.
  • Hands-on exposure to user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience supporting pharmacovigilance solutions in life sciences, along with familiarity with regulatory guidance and compliance requirements such as GxP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Background in data migration.
  • Direct experience with Veeva Vault; Veeva Vault Safety is a plus.
  • Understanding of system application architecture.
  • An undergraduate degree, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience, is required.
  • CBAP or PMP certification is a plus.
  • This role is open only to W2 candidates.
